Sharylin Nadine (Vrtiska) Knock, 81, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on December 18, 2023. She was born on February 25, 1942, in Pawnee City, Nebraska. Sharylin was a dedicated educator who spent her career as a teacher, including a long career teaching kindergarten at Dixie Bee Elementary School in Terre Haute, Indiana. Her unwavering commitment to her students and passion for nurturing young minds left a lasting impact on generations of children.

In addition, Sharylin found solace and joy in her cherished hobbies. She possessed a remarkable talent for crafts, skillfully playing the piano, and teaching others the art of piano playing. Her creativity and dedication to preserving memories through scrapbooking were admired by those who knew her. She genuinely enjoyed gardening and flowers and loved to share starts of her plants with friends.

Sharylin is survived by her February 25, 1942 – December 18, 2023 husband of 60 years, Vern Knock, and their loving sons, Kevin Knock and Larry Knock, along with their families. She is also survived by her brother, Ivan Vrtiska of Omaha, NE.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 23 at 1:00 p.m. The service will honor and pay tribute to Sharylin’s life, celebrating the legacy she leaves behind.
