Viola Faye (Burns) Spier, 93, died in Lincoln, Nebraska, on September 11, 2022. She was born on May 28, 1929, to Clarence and Katherine (Gritz) Burns in rural Auburn, Nebraska.
Viola is survived by children Darrell Spier of Lincoln, Connie Guern, Joyce Nevins, Mary Wilson, Lewis Eugene Spier and Brenda Escamilla (Alfonso) all from California; brother Donald Burns of Kansas City; sisters Karen Vestal, Gail Carbonneau, both of Florida, and Sandra Howard of Lincoln; nine grandchildren; twentythree great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Henry Spier; one daughter, parents, two brothers, one sister and two grandchildren.
Private family services will be held September 10, 2023.
