Margaret L. Bookwalter, 97, formerly of Summerfield, KS, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Center in Beatrice, Nebraska. She was born November 4, 1923 to August W. and Anna (Bartels) Rinne at Steinauer, Nebraska and she graduated from Lewiston High School in 1941.

Maxine Marie (Gottula) Hunzeker, 97, of Humboldt, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at the Community Medical Center in Falls City, Nebraska. She was born on October 25, 1923, to Albert and Esther (Damm) Gottula in Steinauer, Nebraska.

Mary Frances Waddell Hand was born in Pawnee City, Nebraska on July 12, 1929, to Walter E. Waddell and Marie Wilson Waddell. She departed life on Friday, July 30, 2021, just 18 days after her 92 nd birthday!

Verna Tegtmeier Light, 101, of Beatrice passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at the PEO Home of Beatrice. She was born on April 24, 1920 at Burchard, NE. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1937 and the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics in 1946.

Patricia Ann Gilbert

Patricia (Patty) Ann Gilbert, daughter of George and Irma Gilbert, tragically died in a car accident, August 3, 2021, in Arizona at the age of 69. Patty was a loyal Wal-Mart employee for many years managing stores in South Carolina, Texas, and Nevada to name a few. She retired the summer of 2019.

Lulu "Lu" Korber, 78, of rural Bern, KS, passed away July 30, 2021. She was born to Ernest and Gladys (Powell) Mahaffey on the family farm near Alexandria, Nebraska on April 29, 1943.

Rosemary Steuer, 74, of Summerfield, KS, passed away July 29, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Edward and Rose (Ellsen) Simpson on March 2, 1947 in Ipswich, England where she grew up and graduated high school.
