Memorial Day has come and gone, so it’s time to hit the road.As a lover of Nebraska stuff (you know, corn, the Huskers, Busch Light) I’ve never understood why more people don’t vacation in our state.There’s plenty of stuff to see and experience.

House Demolition Through City Program

Since the program's inception in 2020, Pawnee City's demolition reimbursement program has paid out $100,295 to reimburse 27 demolition projects.The program, which is part of the city's beautification initiative, reimburses property owners up to $4,000 for the demolition of blighted buildings.

News Briefs

The SENCA Pawnee County Transit rates will have their first increase in 17 years. Kay Wissman, a representative for SENCA, said the change was due to budget cuts higher up. There will be a 50 cent increase for in town transit and a $1 increase for out of town transit.

Theileria Detected in Nebraska Cattle

LINCOLN, Neb. — Producers are urged to be vigilant after Theileria- a tick-borne parasite that affects cattle – was detected in several Nebraska counties. The Asian Longhorned Tick (ALHT) is the primary carrier responsible for spreading the parasite.
