Pawnee City Fire Chief Dave Glynn said it was mostly smoke, not really a fire at the Pawnee Village Monday morning. The call came in before 6 a.m. It was apartment 114 where a couple lived. Both Tex Finn and his wife, Vivian, got out safely.

The following are ongoing cases in the Pawnee County Court. The Pawnee Republican will report on them as they develop. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Pawnee County Court was held May 6 in the Pawnee County Courthouse. Judge Jeffrey Gaertig presided.
