Power Outage

At approximately 2:40 p.m. Monday, Nebraska State Patrol was dispatched to an incident in Pawnee County north of DuBois on Highway 50. A trooper responded. Upon investigation, it was determined that a road grader backed into a guy wire that was supporting a power pole.

Internet Outage

Spectrum customers in southeast Nebraska dealt with an internet outage on Friday.The outage started about 11 a.m., according to Spectrum. A spokesman said a fiber-optic line was cut.Outages occured in Columbus, Tecumseh, York, Fairbury, Nebraska City and more.Service was restored by 7:15 p.m.

Barb Jackson of Pawnee City was in Lincoln Friday, July 30,1999 to attend the Great Plains Film Festival, but she wasn’t just there to observe, she accepted the 1999 Festival’s highest award, Best Film, for the documentary feature “The Brandon Teena Story”.
