50 Years Ago – August 15, 1974

Rudy Senft, 60, passed away suddenly at his home in Table Rock on Tuesday evening. He Is survived by his wife, Martha, and a daughter June, (Mrs. Jim Wright of Neola, Iowa,) a son John of Lincoln. There are five grandchildren. Senft’s death was apparently, due to an acute asthma attack.

100 Years Ago – August 14, 1924

After 35 years of service with the Burlington railroad as maintenance of way foreman, H. C. Tomlinson of this city received notification last week that his application for retirement and pension had been approved by the relief board at Chicago, and that he might retire at a convenient date.
