TSCI inmate death

June 21, 2024 (Tecumseh, Neb.) – Luis Gonzalez #76716, age 53, died today at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI).Gonzalez’s sentence began on October 15, 2012. He was serving a 30 to 35 year sentence out of Adams County for first degree sexual assault of a child.

1929 Ford Model AA to enjoy Second Retirement at Johnson Co. Museum

Dan and Cindy (Bartles) Svoboda recently made their generosity known by donating a fully restored 1929 Ford Model AA truck to the Johnson County Historical Society.Arthur Bartles, Cindy’s father, of rural Elk Creek purchased the truck on January 26, 1929 from Wherry Ford in Tecumseh.

6,600-plus named to spring UNL Deans’ List

LINCOLN, NE (06/21/2024)- More than 6,600 University of Nebraska-Lincoln students have been named to the Deans’ List for the spring semester of the 2023-24 academic year.Qualification for the Deans’ List varies among the eight undergraduate colleges and the Explore Center.

Tar Spot Confirmed in Richardson Co.

UNL Plant Pathologist Dr. Tamra Jackson- Ziems and her team recently confirmed tar spot in Richardson County, just north of Falls city. The disease infestation is in very low levels, but it is important to begin scouting your corn field. The Corn ipmPIPE helps track the appearance of tar spot.
