Gov. Pillen eyes Nebraska taking over K-12 school funding instead of local property taxes

LINCOLN — Gov. Jim Pillen’s route to property tax reform could come through the State of Nebraska taking over all funding for K-12 schools instead of using local property taxes to pay a portion of the cost.

Fairgrounds main entrance repairs in progress prior to 2024 Fair

William F. Colwell, more commonly known as “Judge Colwell” in our community, was a long-time and active member of Fairview Golf Course. The golf course shares its grounds with the Pawnee County Fairgrounds, whose main entrance has increasingly become in need of repairs with each passing year.
