God’s Crayon Box

As a child, getting a new box of crayons in preparation for the new school year was a big thing. As soon as I got home from shopping, I would eagerly open up my box of 16 or 24, carefully lay the crayons out on a table, and marvel at their shiny sharp points.

10 years ago Dear Editor, I want to recognize the hard working FFA members at Pawnee City High School who have brough in a lot of fresh vegetables for the Senior Diners. The diners and coffee drinkers here at the Action Center really appreciate their work in the garden.

Lions Club Meeting 7-14-2022

The July meeting of the Humboldt Lions Club was held Thursday evening, July 14th at the Old Fire Hall/City Hall. Twelve members were present and enjoyed a pot luck meal.

Japanese Beetles Emerging; Scout Corn and Soybean Fields

Japanese beetle adults are emerging in eastern Nebraska. Their distribution has been increasing in Nebraska the last few years and they are being seen in corn and soybeans more frequently (Figure 1), in addition to feeding on landscape trees and shrubs.
