The student doctor; a complement to patient care

As a clinical professor at my state’s medical school, I frequently have medical students seeing patients with me in clinic. While the majority of patients are happy to allow student involvement, some decline.

God’s Crayon Box

As a child, getting a new box of crayons in preparation for the new school year was a big thing. As soon as I got home from shopping, I would eagerly open up my box of 16 or 24, carefully lay the crayons out on a table, and marvel at their shiny sharp points.

CONDITIONS FAVOR DISEASE DEVELOPMENT IN CORN FOR SOUTHEAST NEBRASKA

With recent rainfall events and humid conditions in southeast Nebraska, conditions will become favorable for disease development in corn. Corn has tasseled and generally looks good, due to recent rainfall and good growing conditions.

Lions Club Meeting 7-14-2022

The July meeting of the Humboldt Lions Club was held Thursday evening, July 14th at the Old Fire Hall/City Hall. Twelve members were present and enjoyed a pot luck meal.

Japanese Beetles Emerging; Scout Corn and Soybean Fields

Japanese beetle adults are emerging in eastern Nebraska. Their distribution has been increasing in Nebraska the last few years and they are being seen in corn and soybeans more frequently (Figure 1), in addition to feeding on landscape trees and shrubs.
