Brock Isaacs plays for the Waverly Riptide 10u team. They just won class AAA state baseball title. Brock was also selected to play in the All Star game which will be held July 23. He is the son of Dawn and Travis Isaacs and the grandson of Garry and Deb Klein.

Legion Post #168 Swears in new officers

Legion Post #168 swore in three new officers on Monday July, 18. Roger Bowman was sworn in as Commander. Jonathan Bailey was sworn in as Vice commander. Peggy Jones was sworn in as Adjutant. All three were sworn in by district commander Scott Buss.

Heat Exhaustion—Give Fluids

In the hot days of July and August, heat exhaustion becomes an increasing threat to athletes and outdoor workers. Heat exhaustion results from a combination of elevated body temperature and dehydration. The fever is often around 102 degrees and excessive sweating may cause a 5-10 pound weight loss.

My parents helped to instill in me a love for music—especially for the old hymns of the Christian faith. They took me to many concerts and hymn sings during my growing up years. Often the leader of the hymn sing would interrupt the singing between verses, and exhort us to “Sing like you mean it!!!
