10 Years ago PCHS Class of 1962 gathered for reunion. The PCHS Class of 1962 held it’s 50 reunion Saturday, May 26, 2012 with 17 class members and 13 spouses attending. In the afternoon, they shared personal news and up dates with one another and members of the Class of 1961.

Ice cream and cake to again be offered at the Fair

The Methodist Church will again be offering Ice cream, cake, rootbeer floats and brownie sundaes at the Pawnee County Fair. In 1961 a group of women decided to have a fund raiser at the Fair and thought "what's better than ice cream and cake". That was the starting of the famous "Ice Cream Stand".

Great News Tattered Flags are being replaced

Friends, family and a whole lot of generous people have come forward to replace Avenue of Flags tattered flags. Over sixty flags will be replaced thanks to people coming forward.

Pawnee City Teacher Recieves Award

Pawnee City's Kristi Robison received the Nebraska Department of the American Legions high school teacher of the year award. Kristi is shown accepting the award from Department Commander Dan Benes at the state convention in Columbus Ne. Kristi was sponsored by Thomas Little post 168.

Zelenka Fills Vacancy on City Council

Vickie Zelenka was appointed to fill the vacancy created by Bruce Haughton’s passing. She was recommended by Mayor Hatfield. With this appointment Zelenka will be filling the remainder of this term which ends in 2024.

RAYMOND DANIEL TO RECEIVE FARM FAMILY AWARD

A Pioneer Farm Family Award will be presented to Raymond Daniel at the Pawnee County Fair on July 21 st . Raymond’s family has owned an 80-acre farm located in Pawnee County for 100 years. Raymond’s grandfather, Frank Daniel Jr., purchased the farm in 1922 from James and Bessie Hubka for $8,000.

Panic attacks, or anxiety attacks, are attacks of sudden fear and a feeling of doom. Panic attacks typically come on very quickly and improve gradually over about ninety minutes. They may occur frequently or infrequently.

Thoughts on Praying for Our Nation

This past Monday citizens across the country celebrated America’s 246th birthday. As we observe division and unrest occurring, may we remember to seek the Lord as we pray fervently for our great nation and for those seeking to preserve our freedoms.

CHECK FIELDS FOR PALMER AMARANTH

A major concern in Nebraska is the weed Palmer amaranth. While I have not seen major infestations of it in the area, I know there are some fields where it is increasing and spreading in southeast Nebraska.
