News Editor marks 10 years at the paper

This issue of the paper marks my 10 years at the Republican. It has been quite a ride. I have truly enjoyed writing about the people and events in Pawnee County and also getting a chance to capture some of the beauty with my camera.

County tackles roadside trees and brush

The County has purchased a Skid Loader Mounted Brush Cutter to aid in the removal of trees and brush along some county roads, said County Roads Superintendent Chris Rauner.

We are responding to readers’ requests to get more history articles in the paper, so this is one of those stories. It is about the Campbell Bros. Circus fire that happened in Pawnee City in 1904. The Campbell Brothers Virgil, Charlie, Al, and Ed started the circus in Galesburg, Ill. In 1883.
