We attended the Civil War weekend on Saturday, Oct 16, at the Pawnee County museum complex. R. J., the local Civil War historian, coordinated the event. We met R. J. on our many visits to True Value and he shared with us his keen interest in the history of the Civil War.

At an Oct. 11 meeting, Pawnee City School Board member Mary Moser made a motion to co-op but the motion was not seconded, killing the motion. The Pawnee City School Board will decide in a special meeting Nov. 22 at 6 p.m. whether to go from six-man football back to eight-man.

Seven fires broke out in the Humboldt-Table Rock area Monday afternoon. There were five area fire departments answering the call about 4:30 p.m. Monday, Pawnee City, Table Rock, DuBois, Humboldt and Dawson.
