I almost shot someone the other day. No euphemism, no hyperbole, I came closer than I ever have to putting a bullet into another human being. My duty handgun is a 1911 target pistol with a 4.5-pound trigger pull. I had that pistol pointed dead center on a man who is the father of multiple children.

Boellstorff enjoys more than 50 years of being a Mason

Daniel Boellstorff has been a Mason for more than 50 years. He belongs to Pawnee City Masonic Lodge No. 23 and the Peru Lodge. He was also a member of the Brock Lodge before it merged. He built the sign at the local lodge in an afternoon. He said it took longer to paint it than build it.

Something About This Saturday’s Band

Dallas Wayne Pryor will be in Table Rock on Saturday night, July 17. That’s important because he is the lead singer, front man, and manager of the Lazy Wayne Band playing from the bandstand that night beginning at 9 p.m.

New ESU 4 Building Update

Construction on the new ESU 4 building in Auburn is slated to be done by the end of the month. They will move in during the month of August and plan to have an open house later this fall, Sept or October.

Grand Marshal Anna Mae Davis has long history with Pawnee County 4-H

Anna Mae Davis has been chosen as the Grand Marshal of the fair parade for the 141st Pawnee County Fair. “Our oldest child started showing 4-H cattle when we lived in Ashland. We moved to Pawnee City in May of 1969 and he participated as an independent in the fair that fall.
