I am no English major, but one thing is for certain, punctuation is critically important when reading the Bill of Rights/Constitution. The pauses from commas, semicolons, and periods delineate critical data and have concrete meaning. Let's examine the first part.

Fishing derby set for June 5

Kids, practice your casting!! A fishing derby scheduled for June 5th is being organized by the Pawnee City Chamber of Commerce! The fishing derby will be held at the Pawnderosa City Pond in Pawnee City from 8-11:00 AM, and registration begins at 7:30 AM.

St. Peter’s Lutheran Church to celebrate 150 years

(Editor’s note: St. Peter’s Lutheran Church will celebrate 150 years this year. They will have two services the first weekend of June. On Saturday, June 5, the guest preacher will be Rev. Dennis Heiden, who was pastor at St. Peter's from 1983-85. Guest preacher for the Sunday 10 a.m.

Ruger LaVerne Caspers

Justin and Whitney (Pfister) Caspers of Tecumseh welcomed their son, Ruger LaVerne Caspers, on April 9th, 2021 at 11:40 pm. Ruger was 7 lb 2 oz and 19 3/4 inches long, and was born in Lincoln. Kinsley and Jessa are his proud big sisters.

The Southeast Nebraska Community Band is beginning its 27th season of making instrumental music for the enjoyment of themselves as well as audiences in the area, is a congenial, diverse group of music performers who range in age from 14 to 88!
