City Council rejects fire station bids

The Pawnee City City Council rejected the three bids for the new fire station project in a special meeting at City Hall Friday afternoon. The vote was 4-0 to say no to three bids that were over the projected estimate of JEO, the engineering firm.

A fire broke out 5 miles west of Highway 99 along Highway 8 in the Southwest corner of Pawnee County Friday. The Pawnee County Fire Department was called at 1:30 p.m. according to fireman Justin Morehead. Summerfield Fire Department and Burchard Fire Department were already there.
