LCS receives a $10,000 grant for FFA and Ag Education Facility

(Grant provided by Farm Credit Services of America Working Here Fund for Agriculture Education ) BEATRICE, NEBRASKA- Lewiston Consolidated Schools received a $10,000 grant for an ag education facility. The grant is provided through Farm Credit Services of America’s (FCSAmerica) Working Here Fund.

Area Prom, Graduation Notes

Prom at PCHS is scheduled for April, 10th. It will begin at 7:00pm with the Red Carpet in front of the high school building. This will be followed by pictures, a dessert reception, formal program, and dance. Graduation will be held on May 15 at 2:00PM in the gym.

Peru State honors area students

Peru State College announced the President's and Dean's List for the Fall 2020 semester. Students representing Nebraska, 23 other states, Puerto Rico, six foreign countries were on the lists. To make the President's List, students must have a grade point average of 4.

Quiz Bowl results

On Monday, March 22 Pawnee City's Junior High Quiz Bowl team competed at the MUDECAS contest at Southern High School in Wymore. The students did a good job at their first competition in two years, and everybody seemed to have fun. The 7th grade team, in particular, did a great job.

Blood Drive in Pawnee City on April 8th

The Bloodmobile will be in Pawnee City Thursday, April 8th, from 12 noon to 6:00 p.m., at the Methodist Poteet Hall, hosted by our Pawnee City students under the supervision of Tim Kluck, Student Council Advisor. A canteen will be served. Appointment required during Covid restrictions.

The farm woman that was my grandmother

When I was asked to write for Women’s History Month, it was suggested that I might base a piece on my grandmother’s diaries. Grandma wrote faithfully in those small, 5-year diaries that allowed for a few lines each day.
