Invasive zebra mussels found in aquarium tanks

LINCOLN, Neb. – After a recent discovery of invasive zebra mussels within Marimo or “moss” balls used in aquarium tanks, the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is urging the public to take precautions to prevent the spread of this highly destructive species.

Assessor retires

Jon Bailey retires as Pawnee County Assessor Friday. He has been Assessor for 22 years. The Pawnee County Board of Commissioners will appoint someone to fill the vacancy. He said the people of the County were enjoyable to work for.

National Library Week at Pawnee City Public Library

The motto for this week is “Welcome to Your Library”. Since COVID prevented us from celebrating National Library Week last year, we are trying to safely put something together so we can celebrate this year. It may be a bit different, but we will be doing what we feel we can.

Chiefs mascot performs at Lewiston Schools

When the Kansas City Chiefs left the Super Bowl in Florida it was 70 degrees. When they touched down in Kansas City it was 7 degrees. The temperature change and the game were not a good experience for the team or the mascot KC Wolf. But wait till next year, the mascot said.
