Senator Slama eager to get started in January

Sen. Julie Slama will start her next session in the Legislature in January after winning reelection in the Nov. 3 General Election. She bested challenger Janet Palmtag of Nebraska City. In fact, Otoe County was the only county carried by Palmtag.

The annual Veterans Day supper and program was not held this year due to the risks of COVID-19. But the Brown-Hays Post 289 still wanted to honor the members who have reached their 50th year and above. But they wanted to do something without the risks of a large group gathering.
