Council passes COVID proclamation

The Pawnee City City Council asks residents and visitors to wear a mask while doing business in the city. They passed a proclamation to that effect 4-0 at the Monday night meeting. You can read the proclamation in the paper. This will be a suggestion, a strong suggestion.

November 18, 2020 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Today, Director Scott R. Frakes announced that 12 staff members with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) are positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19).

A weekago last Tuesday we lost Bryce Niss to a farm accident. Later that day and night and into the next day his friends and neighbors finished his harvest. Then they enjoyed a home cooked meal provided by three local familiies. It was a very touching moment to see our community come together.

Farm accident claims life of Pawnee County farmer

The combines and grain trucks began to gather at cornfields east of Pawnee City Tuesday afternoon, a few hours after a farm accident claimed the life of Bryce Niss. His neighbors and friends came to finish his harvest and to honor his memory.

Table Rock anhydrous spill sends four to hospital

Anhydrous ammonia spill Thursday night near Table Rock sent four people to the hospital. There was also an evacuation of part of the town. The accident occurred near the old Reno Inn and train depot when a hose came off a tank and dragged along knocking the valve off.

One-Act Team heads to Districts

Gathering Blue adapted by Eric Coble is the play the One-Act team is producing this year. They won the Pioneer Conference title recently. They will have a private performance Sunday at 6 p.m. and enter District Competition Nov. 30. Reyana Tegtmeier won Best Actress in Conference competition.
