2010-10 Years Ago The Pawnee City Foundation has staked off an area at the east end of the track where they will construct a wellness and fitness building for the school. The total project cost for the 42x68 building is estimated at $99,247.

A Mitten Tree for students at Pawnee City Schools has been set up. Bring in your new or gently used gloves, hats, mittens, winter coats to the City Office through Dec. 15.

Just today I heard that one social media forum blocked a potent posting of a bible passage. My guess is that it spoke of a truth that God gives us, a good teaching, though someone was offended. That’s what often happens in our world.

Celebrating the 2020 harvest

This Thanksgiving is a good time to reflect on our blessings, especially in this troubled time. One thing to be thankful for is the 2020 harvest. Despite all the difficulties working around the pandemic, the farmers still brought in the crop.

Plaques were put up in Steinauer by the Village of Steinauer in appreciation for all those that donated financially to the park project. The new playground equipment and picnic shelter could not have been completed without all the support!.

Art program going strong at HTRS

Sharon Joyner is not your typical just out of college teaching prospect. She teaches grades kindergarten through 12th grades at HTRS. She was hired at HTRS during the 2011-12 school year by then Superintendent Clint Kimbrough who was impressed by her art portfolio and what she had done in life.
