The LCS (Leadership, Character, Service) Club provided a hayrack ride for Lewiston Pre-K and Elementary students Wednesday, October 28, in the afternoon. LCS members provided assistance on the hayrack. They also delivered snacks and treats to all the classrooms.

Tucker Everett entered a unique project in the Pawnee County Fair this year and did an awesome job, winning him a purple ribbon and a trip to the Nebraska State Fair for his project. Tucker constructed a knife which took two weeks to complete.

Lewiston Consolidated School would like to congratulate Hayden Christen! Hayden was selected as one of 48 Nebraska High School Seniors to receive the statewide award for Believers and Achievers. Also receiving awards were Masyn Arena and Jonathan Janssen.

The word of the day was "sad" as fire took the huge stone house on Luzerne Street in Table Rock . It was a planned and necessary tragedy. The house had sat abandoned since its last owner died almost 20 years ago. No heir came forward, and efforts to save the place were unsuccessful.

County making progress on Burchard Lake Road

If you have ever driven on the paved portion of Burchard Lake Road, you know what a nightmare it is. The road is full of huge potholes and cracked pavement. It jars all the vehicles that go down it and probably means realignment for continual users of the road.

Dr. Jackson receives award

Dr. Rick Jackson will receive the Dedicated to Student Excellence Award from the University Medical Center in Omaha Nov. 5 in a Virtual Presentation Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. You can join the event with this link: bit.ly/COMawardeeZoom20. Dr. Jackson graduated from UNMC in 1969.

The Pawnee City Public Schools Education Foundation would like to thank everyone that participated in donating to the recent fundraiser for the school Backpack program. We are thrilled to let you know that we exceeded our goal by raising $5000 to maximize our matching funds.

Flag volunteers needed

Pawnee County Avenue of Flags will be putting up flags around the Courthouse for Veterans Day, Monday November 11, 2020. We will start at 7:00 A.M. and will take the flags down at 4:30 P.M. We would appreciate volunteers.
