Lewiston FFA has a portion of the highway adopted and on Saturday they went and cleaned up the trash along the road. Students arrived at school around 9:00 am and worked until 10:30 am. Mr. Kurt Wissenburg is the sponsor.

Faith Baptist Church has kicked off their Awana Clubs (Pre-K through 6th) as well as Junior High Youth Group. Kids enjoy learning about God, singing songs, memorizing bible verses, playing games, and purchasing prizes through the Awana Store.

Pawnee County receives another dividend check

LINCOLN – Pawnee County has received another membership dividend, this time in the amount of $5,989, from the Nebraska Intergovernmental Risk Management Association (NIRMA), the county’s property, liability and workers’ compensation coverage and risk management services provider.

TeamMates Mentoring Program

The Pawnee City TeamMates Chapter was established four years ago. The chapter currently has 27 active matches and is looking to grow. The TeamMates Mentoring Program began in 1991 with the vision of University of Nebraska Head Football Coach Tom Osborne and his wife Nancy.

Pawnee City Library Reading Program

The Pawnee City Library is once again sponsoring a program to help students earn gifts for their family. In order to reach more students, they are coordinating the program with the Pawnee City Public Schools.

Farm Safety the topic at Lewiston Schools

On Wednesday, September 23rd, members of the Lewiston FFA Chapter presented farm safety demonstrations to Lewiston elementary students. Youth were instructed in four stations, which included tractor and PTO hazards, livestock behavior, ATV safety, and being safe around semis.

PC science teachers expanding their students’ worlds

It is a busy time for science students at Pawnee City Schools. The science teachers Kerry Rodocker-Wiarda and Tyler Ferebee cover a lot of ground teaching several classes. Kerry teaches College Credit Medical Terminology and General Biology, Biology, Science for 6th, 7th and 9th grade.

Tut the pig made a few friends last Friday at the Pawnee Thriftway. Some PC schools students met him on a field trip. He is owned by Wayne and Bev Norris. Wayne works at Pawnee Thriftway.
