City to spend $30,000 on Dr. Rick Jackson Trail

Pawnee City will spend $30,000 on making repairs to the Dr. Rick Jackson Trail. That was decided on a 4-0 vote at the Monday night City Council meeting. The winning bid was Clint Mahoney’s. At the last meeting, the bid was thought to be $18,000 and the Council voted for it.

B-29 visitor

Sunday afternoon Aug. 2 the B-29 Doc from Wichita overflew the SchillingBridge Winery and Pawnee City on a flight from Omaha to Wichita. The aircraft was piloted by Dawson resident Mark Novak.

A community blood drive with the American Red Cross is this Thursday, August 13th, from noon – 6:00 p.m. at the Methodist Poteet Hall. The short amount of time it takes to donate can mean a lifetime to a patient with a serious medical condition.

Deputy Townsend nears end of training

This is an interview Ray Kappel did with Deputy Josh Townsend about the training he is getting at the Law Enforcement Academy. He will graduate Aug. 21. Q: What amount of time were you at the Academy? A: On average, you spend 626 hours at the Academy. It may vary, but 626 is the bare minimum.
