This year a 100-year Nebraska Pioneer Farm Award was presented to Dorothy Bstandig. Five generations of the Bstandig family have owned the SE ¼ of Section 10-2-10 since 1905. The farm was purchased for about $49/acre by Larry Bstandig’s great-great-grandfather, Frank J. Wenzl, who emigrated here from Austria in 1867.

The MUDECAS conference schools, at a special meeting on July 7th, voted to move the 2020 MUDECAS volleyball tournament out of Beatrice only for the 2020-21 school year. The conference will instead be hosting the tournament at conference schools.
