PSC Issues Mid-Season Reminder on Cold Weather Rule, Offers Energy Saving Tips

LINCOLN – Although residents have enjoyed some unseasonably warm temperatures recently, the Nebraska Public Service Commission (PSC) is reminding natural gas customers to plan ahead for more winter-like conditions and that the PSC’s Cold Weather Rule remains in place through March.

Pawnee City Fire Department Executes Successful Controlled Burn

The Pawnee City Volunteer Fire Department carried out a successful controlled burn on an abated house on Friday, January 9.The house, located at 1145 G Street, had been a declared nuisance property for some time before it was acquired by the city through the abatement process.

Starting this week, print subscribers will be getting their paper a day later due the changes at the Postoffice. This will not affect Pawnee City, Table Rock, Du Bois and Steinauer. The outgoing USPS truck will only pick up mail Wednesday mornings and there will not be one in the afternoon.
