K9 Program Grant Funding

The Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce that we have recently been awarded a grant to establish a K-9 unit, a program approved by our County Commissioners to address drug-related activity in and traveling through our region.

Child care advocates hope new Nebraska GOP-focused poll spurs more support, public resources

OMAHA— Earlier this year, Omahan Walter Gilliam was invited to talk to Connecticut lawmakers about the benefits of what soon became a $300 million endowment fund to reduce child care costs for families and create thousands of new preschool slots in that state.

The following are ongoing cases in the Pawnee County District Court. The Pawnee Republican will report on them as they develop. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Pawnee County District Court was held July 21 in the Pawnee County Courthouse.

Lincoln, NE — The state of Nebraska has extended a health alert for Harmful Algal Blooms (HAB), also known as toxic blue-green algae, at Kirkman’s Cove Lake in Richardson County.

The July Cars and Coffee at Jerry’s Dream Museum was a little noisier than usual with race cars being featured. From drag strip to dirt track, cars arrived for enjoyment by all.

The Pawnee City Opera House

Part 2:1886, For ExampleThe opera house was built in 1882 at a cost of $20,000. In its earliest days, how it was used and how often were not well documented in the newspapers of the day. In 1886, entrepreneurs A. B. Edee and W. A. McClure leased the opera house. They made things happen.
