K9 Program Grant Funding

The Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce that we have recently been awarded a grant to establish a K-9 unit, a program approved by our County Commissioners to address drug-related activity in and traveling through our region.

The following are ongoing cases in the Pawnee County District Court. The Pawnee Republican will report on them as they develop. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Pawnee County District Court was held July 21 in the Pawnee County Courthouse.

10 Years Ago – July 30, 2015The Pawnee County Fair Parade featured a host of people bent on having a good time. If you ever wanted to see a commissioner in a hotdog suit you should have been there.

July Cars and Coffee Event

The July Cars and Coffee at Jerry’s Dream Museum was a little noisier than usual with race cars being featured. From drag strip to dirt track, cars arrived for enjoyment by all.

The Pawnee City Opera House

Part 2:1886, For ExampleThe opera house was built in 1882 at a cost of $20,000. In its earliest days, how it was used and how often were not well documented in the newspapers of the day. In 1886, entrepreneurs A. B. Edee and W. A. McClure leased the opera house. They made things happen.
