Pawnee City native and comedian Dan Whitney, also known as Larry the Cable Guy, was the special guest for a recent viewing of the Disney movie 'Cars' at Van Horne Park in Pawnee City.The event included a free ice cream social and a short standup routine by Whitney.

Nanette Smith Reports Fair Results to Pawnee County Commissioners

Nanette Smith met with the Pawnee County Commissioners Board on behalf of the Pawnee County Ag Society to report the profits and losses of the Pawnee County Fair.Smith said these results are normally only given to the fair board, however, this year she wanted the commissioners to see it as well.

The following are ongoing cases in the Pawnee County Court. The Pawnee Republican will report on them as they develop. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Pawnee County Court was held July 17 in the Pawnee County Courthouse. Judge Richard Smith presided.

10 Years Ago – August 13, 2015Due to a recent donation from the Callam Estate, the city of Pawnee City has some extra money and it wants to spend that on demolition of nuisance housing. Next year’s budget has $40,000 set aside for that project.
