County Spelling Bee held at Lewiston

5th/6th Grade Division: (l to r) Isabella Seitz, Pawnee City, 1st place, Issabel Meyers, Lewiston, 2nd place, Corbin Crouse, Lewiston, 3rd place Lewiston hosted the county Spelling Bee on Feb. 28th. This year we went back to an oral spelling bee.

The Pawnee County Avenue of Flag committee began the quest last summer to replace tattered flags of veterans for their display.

On February 28, 2023, Thelma Bernice Hayes (Lambert), better known as Snooks, of Falls City, Nebraska was surprised by a knock at her door around 4pm. She asked her granddaughter to answer it, but as soon as she seen the cameras she didn’t want to answer it.
