‘Belfast’ offers you a St. Patrick’s Day treat

Every year about this time we have an Irish-themed story for the readers as we approach St. Patrick’s Day. Last year I did it on Sean McAhon’s family, this year I’m doing it on a film I watched, “Belfast.” This is from writer-director Kenneth Branagh, who calls this film his most personal one.

A crash occurred about 7 a.m Tuesday morning eight miles west of Pawnee City on Highway 8. J.B. Nicholas was driving his tractor with a silage wagon when a driver of a pickup truck hit him from behind. Everyone is believed to be okay.

2012-10 Years Ago Ellis Dovel wasn’t sure he wanted to visit the site where his former schoolhouse was being torn down. He was one of the few who actually attended all eight grades of school in that one room stone schoolhouse. In the end, he did go.
