The American Legion, Department of Nebraska, selected twenty recipients of the Maynard Jensen Scholarship. The Maynard Jensen scholarship began in 1989 as “The American Legion Scholarship” and it was renamed in 1992 in memory of Past Department Commander Maynard Jensen of Aurora.

The Pawnee City Public Library celebrated National Library Week recently. Fourth and fifth graders from around the area came for Golden Sower Day. The kids were read to and answered questions about the Golden Sower at the state capital.
