Although legend has it that there was a large Pawnee village in Pawnee County, history does not corroborate it. The existence of the village since recorded history is no more likely than the Aztecs who supposedly lived in Table Rock and met their downfall after sacrificing the wrong maiden.

They’re back. The American White Pelicans have returned to Burchard Lake. Since I make almost daily trips to the Lake for photography, I noticed last year they never showed. But just last week they were there by the hundreds. They congregate along the banks and fish in a large number.

TR Alumni Luncheon May 29

The repair work on the Pawnee City pool continues as the approach of the regular season nears. Miracle Mudjacking of Nebraska City was hired to work on the pool after the City fell out with the previous contractor Premier Pools.

The Kosiski family racing legend started almost by accident. The patriarch of the family, Bob, was at a race in Central City, Nebraska in 1950. A relative was to have raced but didn’t show. Bob raced in his place. He said many years later, that was the hook.
