Lewiston FFA Qualifies two to state

Six Lewiston FFA members competed in the district FFA Leadership Development Events on January 18th. The events were held virtually across southeast Nebraska. .Emma de Koning and Masyn Arena both qualified for the state competitions in their respective events.

State updates the latest COVID-19 news

LINCOLN – The latest statewide total of COVID-19 cases is 199,782 as of Feb. 23. There have been 36 COVID-19-related deaths in Nebraska reported in the last seven days, for a total of 2,054. To date, a total of 153,585 Nebraskans testing positive for COVID-19 have recovered.

Art influences the life of Pawnee City School’s senior Tristen Bradbury

For Pawnee City High School senior Tristen Bradbury, art is the biggest influence in her life, and what she loves to do most. She is the daughter of Jim and Audra Bradbury. Her brother is Kellen Bradbury. She recently received first place for acrylic painting in the Pioneer Conference.

In spite of the sub zero temperatures a snow covered pond will not freeze as solid as you might expect. Snow can act like insulation and limit how solid ice can get especialy if the snow covered the ice before it became frozen thick.

Some people seem to never get sick no matter what they do or what illness goes through the community. Usually it is because they have good habits and avoid bad ones. Basically the healthier you are, the less likely a virus or bacteria will take hold and cause an infection.

As a registered independent, party loyalty has never impacted my decision at the ballot box. In fact, all of us are probably independent enough to vote for the person instead of the party. We have no guarantee that the person we vote for will conduct business exactly as we would.
