City Hall, parks, playgrounds to reopen

The Pawnee City City Hall will be open by the end of the week to the public. It has been closed due to the Covid crisis guidelines. The parks, playgrounds, and shelters will also be open with social distancing guidelines. Watch for information signs. The restrooms will remain closed.

Bobbi Goltz of Pawnee City is the owner of her own baking business. What started as a Facebook post has turned into a business called Baking from Bobbi. “Baking from Bobbi started as a post on Facebook asking my friends and family if they were interested in banana bread or zucchini bread.

Fatality accident near DuBois

On June 8, 2020, a two-vehicle fatality accident occurred on Highway 50, south of DuBois near the Kansas state line. The investigation conducted by the Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office determined that at approximately 11:15 a.m.

Deputy Townsend training at the Academy

Pawnee County Deputy Josh Townend has started his 14-week training at the Nebraska Law Enforcment Training Academy in Grand Island. He started May 17 and graduates Aug. 21. Passing the training means he will be certified.

Mayor’s donation

Pawnee City Mayor Charlie Hatfield is donating 1/2 of his June salary payment to the Animal Control Board to help with the rabies clinic scheduled for June 13th.

I’ve known Kenny Kimes my entire life. He was the neighbor kid when we were growing up. I knew he was talented but as he nears retirement, he is using that talent even more. Although Kenny would like to retire, he said he will still tinker in the construction business.

Court system adjusts to Covid-19

If you think you are having a tough time with the Covid-19 problems, consider the court system and the challenges it is facing. According to County Attorney Jennifer Stehlik Ladman, the judges have been very proactive in utilizing technology to limit in-person court appearances.
