Strong Showing at the Spring Turkey Challenge; Youth Division Extended

The inaugural Spring Turkey Challenge is seeing a surge in momentum following a productive weekend of entries. Hunters across all divisions have been checking in birds, keeping the leaderboard competitive as the event enters its final stretch.

As we submit this newsletter, the Legislature is preparing to adjourn Sine Die. Final Reading of bills was completed on Friday April 10th. While a relatively quiet final day was anticipated, Governor Pillen issued vetoes on five legislative bills for which veto overrides will be considered.

Old Guys Brew, the coffee shop/bar in Pawnee City, was in for a surprise when they began building a patio behind the bar. In order to expand their service, management at the bar decided to knock down an old shed that was built onto the building and build a patio in its place.

Pawnee City 30th Community to Become Leadership Certified Community

Dave Honz, Economic Development Manager for the Department of Economic Development for the state of Nebraska, attended the Pawnee City city council meeting on Monday, April 13, to officially present the city with a certificate designating Pawnee City as a Leadership Certified Community.
